In March of 2021, we embarked on a transformative journey by purchasing Sharrock Automotive. After two years of continuous growth, commitment, and passion, we rebranded to Legendary Automotive in February of 2023. This change represented not just a new chapter for our business but also our relentless drive to become an iconic presence in the automotive repair industry.

Our Roots and Passion
The genesis of Legendary Automotive can be traced back to a rusty, non-functional go-cart I received at 13. Those countless hours I spent, tinkering and understanding the mechanics, ignited a lifelong passion to become a technician and one day, helm my own repair shop.

Jason Adams
General Manager
Jason brings over 30 years of hands-on experience in the automotive industry, with specialized expertise in premium brands including Land Rover, Jaguar, Audi, and Volkswagen. His passion for the industry began early, growing up in East Texas and working in his family’s auto parts stores—a foundation that instilled a lifelong dedication to quality and service. After serving honorably in the United States Marine Corps, Jason continued his journey at Stephen F. Austin State University. His military service and education have shaped a career defined by discipline, integrity, and a strong customer-first mindset. Jason is married and a proud father of two sons, three stepsons, and a grandson. He and his wife enjoy outdoor adventures, especially traveling to Colorado with their two dogs—a German Shorthaired Pointer and a Rhodesian Ridgeback. An avid sportsman and collector, Jason also enjoys hunting, fishing, and collecting vintage sports memorabilia whenever the opportunity arises.
Austin Lathrop
Lead Service Advisor
Austin Lathrop brings over 10 years of experience in the automotive industry to his role as Lead Service Advisor at Legendary Automotive. While he doesn’t consider himself a traditional “car guy,” Austin has been around dirt track racing since birth, which has given him a lifelong connection to the automotive world. At Legendary Automotive, Austin is known for his honest communication, deep industry knowledge, and commitment to delivering a smooth, stress-free experience for every customer. His approach is built on trust, transparency, and a genuine interest in helping people get back on the road safely. When he’s not at the shop, Austin enjoys spending time with his family and finding creative ways to keep his kids entertained. He’s also a passionate music lover with an eclectic taste—though his favorite band is hands down, Sleep Token.
Chris Mertz
Service Advisor
Bringing about 15 years of professional experience in automotive repair, performance, and motorsport applications. My expertise lies in European brands such as BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Porsche, Audi, Volkswagen, Land Rover, and some exotic applications. I’m passionate about precision and craftsmanship, with a strong focus on advanced diagnostics, custom modifications, and performance upgrades. Bringing a meticulous eye for aesthetics. Every vehicle I work on receives the same level of care and attention as if it were my own.

Tyler Ashton
Service Advisor
Tyler Ashton is a Service Advisor at Legendary Automotive and Diesel Repair, where he brings a deep understanding of vehicle systems and a commitment to excellent customer service. With over 13 years of hands-on experience as an ASE-certified technician, Tyler’s background spans commercial diesel repair, general automotive work, Jeep and off-road specialization, and motorcycle maintenance. Before stepping into his advisory role, Tyler spent 4.5 years in commercial diesel repair and 9 years working with automotive, off-road, and motorcycle systems. His transition from the shop floor to the front desk means customers get advice grounded in real mechanical expertise—delivered with a friendly, detail-oriented approach. Beyond his work at legendary automotive Tyler is a husband to his wife Rachel and father to two boys named Julian and Cooper.
